Après avoir sorti deux EP acclamés et énormément joués pour OFF Recordings, les prodigieux Andre Crom et Luca Doobie sont de retour avec un maxi impressionnant.

« Got You There » correspond parfaitement a la définition d’une bombe pour dancefloor rempli: un gimmick vocal hautement addictif posé sur un pied solide comme un roc, agrémenté d’une ligne de basse sonnant comme un orgue des 90s et de grooves de Chicago pur souche… Sans oublier un break si puissant qu’il nécessiterait presque un permis de port d’arme pour le jouer.

« Snake Seven » est quant a lui un morceau plus subtile et ombrageux avec un groove sombre, des vocales effrayantes et une ligne de basse jazzy jusqu’au bout des ongles.

Ce vinyl est complété d’un remix par la légende underground française Chris Carrier qui nous présente une interprétation dépouillée et dansante de « Snake Seven ». Étirée, tout en basses fréquences et en entrées sèches d’instruments et de vocaux, en somme l’outil parfait pour des sets house et techno.

“Got You There” is just what the description “peaktime-anthem” has been invented for: a highly catchy vocal hook on top of a rock-solid kick and 90ies-organ-bassline groove, supplemented by rave-chord-stabs and driving Chicago-ish grooves on top. And a break that you should need a weapons license for.

“Snake Seven” is a more subtle and moody affair with a dark groove, freaky vocals and a jazzy bassline and theme loop…

The vinyl is completed by a remix of french underground legend Chris Carrier who delivers a great toolish and extremely groovy interpretation of “Snake Seven”. Stripped down, all about a strong bassline and with dry instrument and vocal stabs from the original, this is a timeless tool perfect for house and techno sets alike.
