Tout remonté de cet été passé au Marcy, l’indescriptible hôtel du label, Nicolas Jaar nous a encore fait tomber sous le charme de ses deux nouvelles productions lentes et atmosphériques, ajoutant un nouvel univers à sa sonorité habituelle.

« Je pense que les deux morceaux évoquent le nouvel americain que je suis, ou celui qui n’est jamais parti quand j’étais à Santiago ». ‘Mi Mujer’, avec son titre espagnol et ses paroles m’a été inspiré par les nombreux porto ricains et dominicains qui vivent non loin du Marcy »

‘Time For Us’ symbolise également ce nouvel americain, morceau le morceau comportant des paroles chantées en anglais pour la premiere fois. Le tempo du morceau est incroyablement détendu, accentuant les passages deep aux paroles sensuelles. Ce morceau intime s’éloigne des standards club pour rayonner par sa dynamique exceptionnelle, Seth Troxler l’ayant lancé comme une fusée lors du festival Burning Man cet été, parfaitement dans son environnement.

Le natif de New York Nicolas Jaar a grandi au Chili jusqu’à ses 11 ans avant de revenir chez lui. A 19 ans il dépasse de la tête et des épaules bon nombre de producteurs du moment. Et plus de moments musicaux impressionnants sont à venir sur son propre label, Clown and Sunset, de même que dans sa famille adoptive Wolf + Lamb Music.

The first Wolf + Lamb release of the new decade comes from the young and gifted Nicolas Jaar, who gives the world ‘Time For Us’.

Dreamt up this summer while living at the Marcy, Wolf + Lamb’s infamous fake hotel, Nicolas Jaar gives us two slow and enveloping productions, adding a new dimension to his signature sound.

“I think both tracks evoke a new American in me, or the one that never left while I was in Santiagoe. ‘Mi Mujer’, with its Spanish title and lyrics was inspired by the countless Puerto Ricans and Dominicans hanging out near the Marcy.”

‘Time For Us’ too has embodies this new American, his lyrics sung in English for the first time. The track’s tempo slides down the scale at its peak and sensual deep spoken passages ooze through the gaps.
An intimate track, ‘Time For Us’ moves away from formulaic club music and inspires with its dynamic approach. Seth Troxler has laced it with admiration and the record was more than in tune with the environment when unleashed at Burning Man this summer.

New York born Nicolas Jaar was raised in Chile until the age of 11 before returning stateside. At 19 he stands head and shoulders above similar breakthrough producers of the moment. He has more stunning music forthcoming on his own label, Clown and Sunset as well as with his adopted family, Wolf + Lamb music.
