Le jeune et discret Simon Aussel a bien grandi depuis qu’on l’a connu ; que ce soit de part sa taille mais aussi au niveau de sa maturité musicale. Ayant la capacité de pousser les disques à une rapidité déconcertante tout en mélangeant les genres (exemple flagrant avec ce set d’une heure contenant 19 tracks mixés sur plaques), Pursim s’est forgé une véritable culture capable de remettre en place nombreux d’entre nous. Depuis trois ans, il s’est attaqué à la production et l’on peut dire que ça commence carrément à sonner. Prenant part au désormais réputé Phonographe Corp pour lequel il écrit des chroniques et organise des soirées, l’artiste rémois partageait dernièrement l’affiche de Juan Atkins et S3A. Simon Aussel is a young and lowkey deejay and producer who grew up a lot since we met him for the first time. He obviously gained height since, but also musical maturity. He is incredibly skilled at switching from one record to another at the speed of light, but still, he intelligently blending styles. One striking example would be this dj set we present to you, composed of 19 tracks played in one hour, all on vinyl records. Pursim’s musical culture also grew a lot, and he started to get into production, gifting us with some damn good tracks. He is now writing reviews and organizing partie for Phonographe Corp, he recently played with Juan Atkins and S3A. It is a pleasure for us to share with you this translation of his funky musical atmosphere, which is also the outcome of a great amount of record-digging sessions.
